ZOVIRAX DUO® Cream is a combination antiviral and anti-inflammatory topical treatment used for the early treatment of recurrent cold sores (herpes labialis) on the lips and face. It contains acyclovir, which targets the herpes simplex virus, and hydrocortisone, which helps reduce inflammation, redness, and discomfort.

Indications

ZOVIRAX DUO® Cream is indicated for:

• Early treatment of recurrent cold sores (herpes labialis)
• Reduction of cold sore progression
• Relief of redness, itching, swelling, and discomfort associated with cold sores

Mechanism of Action

• Acyclovir is an antiviral agent that inhibits replication of the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
• Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation and local immune reactions associated with cold sores.

The combination may help decrease the likelihood of developing ulcerative cold sore lesions when applied at the first signs of infection.

Directions for Use

• Begin treatment at the first sign of a cold sore (tingling, itching, redness, or burning).
• Apply a thin layer to the affected area and surrounding skin as directed in the product instructions.
• Wash hands before and after application.
• Continue treatment for the recommended duration.
